ABOUT LOIS
Lois Hollis was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. She earned her RN from St. Joseph's Hospital in Maryland and a BSN from the University of Pennsylvania. For thirty years, Lois gained significant experience as a nurse in various fields of medicine, such as open heart surgery, trauma, neurosurgery, gastroenterology and nephrology. She won the respect and admiration of her colleagues and patients by propelling her career into both research and consulting. Among her many achievements, Lois was instrumental in establishing one of the first hemodialysis units in the country.
In the midst of her career, Lois moved to Virginia, where she married a gastroenterologist and gave birth to three beautiful, healthy girls. Despite her many accomplishments, Lois suffered from incapacitating migraines and depression. After two decades of living on prescription drugs, Lois decided to start a new chapter in her life. Much to the chagrin of her friends, colleagues and even her husband, Lois entered the world of holistic health.
Even though she harbored her own skepticism about non-conventional medicine, she was desperate for a resolution to anguishing migraines, drug-induced nausea and unexplained guilt. Within five years of holistic intervention, Lois felt more alive than ever, looked ten years younger and was migraine free.
By stepping out of her comfort zone, Lois also discovered that her emotional health was intricately woven into her physical health. Even years before seeking alternative treatment for her migraines, Lois had been on a quest to resolve her childhood physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. Frustrated, she had tried everything from Freud to Zen without resolution. One therapist asked her to journal every day for homework. Several therapists later, as Lois continued to journal, she had a breakthrough.
Through deep introspection and journaling, Lois discovered that her emotions had lives of their own! Each negative emotion exemplified a painful emotional experience that was locked behind a wall of shame within her unconscious. She began to understand that these emotions were actually her, frozen in time at some point during her childhood by the shame of trauma (PTSD.)
Once she reconciled with these emotions, an amazing cascade of healing occurred which continued to grow exponentially. Anger became her Passion, Anxiety became Intuition, Depression became Compassion and her guilt was gone. Lois felt energized, empowered, and eager to help others who had been frustrated by the band-aids of traditional psychotherapies and prescriptions drugs.
Lois also came to realize that with the healing of her emotions she now enjoyed a deeper soul access. She began to write in Soul Language. She describes Soul Language as a language that relays the soul frequency and thus awakens other souls. Out of those writings came the triology "The Universe Speaks" and "Soul Mirror Cards." Lois has also produced a DVD "Out of Discord Into Harmony" illustrating the interactions of her unconscious emotions and has written a 3 act play soon to be staged. She is currently working on a book to heal narcissism and a workbook on the method of SOULSPEAKS.
From college students struggling to find their way to middle-aged women struggling with severe depression and private pain, Lois has helped hundreds of individuals feel truly alive again. Today, as a Rev. with the Universal Life Church, she practices her cutting-edge method of emotional spiritual wellness in the oasis of Sedona, Arizona. She passionately enjoys helping others discover their true self.
